Network Engineer Role

The Network Engineer role offers the opportunity to join a global, dynamic team that maintains a 24/7 low latency trading environment. You will work closely with the Systems, Information Security, and Development teams to ensure business objectives are met. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be proactive, and able to work independently, within a team, and with external parties.

Requirements
  • Genuine enthusiasm for Networks and Open Source technologies.
  • Positive, constructive, and open-minded attitude. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Understanding of Routing and Switching protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, DHCP, VRRP.
  • Experience supporting multi-vendor routing/switching environments (Arista, Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Knowledge of Firewall operations, configuration, and management, primarily Palo Alto and Fortigate.
  • Experience working in large Data Centre environments, with hands-on hardware skills: installation, patching, fibre, UTP.
  • Availability to travel to our London offices 2-3 times a week.
  • Experience with Agile and/or DevOps methodologies.
  • Good understanding of Linux operating systems, particularly Ubuntu and Redhat.
  • Exposure to OSS monitoring systems (e.g., Nagios, Observium, Prometheus).
  • Scripting and automation experience using tools such as Netbox, Ansible, Puppet, Bash, Python, GIT.
