About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Timber Frame Designer to join our expanding team. You will play a vital role in designing timber frame structures for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring structural integrity, compliance, and efficient fabrication. This role offers flexibility across various locations and the opportunity to contribute to sustainable construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed timber frame designs and drawings from architectural and structural input.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and manufacturing teams to develop buildable, compliant timber frame solutions.
Prepare fabrication drawings and specifications to support off-site manufacturing.
Review and ensure designs comply with UK building regulations and relevant standards.
Assist with technical queries and provide support during the construction phase.
Use CAD and BIM software to produce accurate and clear design documentation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of timber construction technologies, materials, and regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Timber Frame Designer or similar role in timber construction.
Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with BIM processes.
Strong understanding of timber frame construction methods, structural principles, and UK building regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of sustainable construction practices is a plus.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in structural engineering, architecture, or construction technology.
Experience with off-site manufacturing and prefabrication.
Familiarity with timber grading, treatment, and environmental standards.
