As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will ensure building services systems are properly commissioned in accordance with relevant standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act safely, adhering to health and safety policies
- Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally
- Ensure technical compliance and high-quality output
- Collaborate with the main contractor to develop commissioning strategies
- Adopt company project and management systems
- Monitor project finances and control expenditures
- Attend meetings and produce reports covering technical, commercial, and schedule aspects
- Develop project-specific management and validation documents
- Review drawings, manuals, and technical submissions
- Create procedural instructions and test scripts
- Report scope changes and assess project progress, difficulties, and costs
- Perform hands-on commissioning work as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- BEng in Electrical Engineering with Building Services
- Project management experience is highly valued
- Additional modules: Construction Contract Law, Project Management, Building Services, Environmental Design, Lighting, Energy, Time Management, Presentations
- Membership in CIBSE, ASHRAE, or similar is advantageous
- Minimum 5 years in project or commissioning management in building projects (Commercial, Residential, Life Science, Healthcare)
- Experience with company quality and environmental policies
- Proficiency in MS Office
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to travel to site locations
- Experienced engineer, PE licensed or field technician familiar with MEP systems, HVAC controls, T&B processes
- Good computer and typing skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Project
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of design documents and multidisciplinary design delivery
- Knowledge of construction practices and business operations
- Understanding of project accounting and financial management
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
