Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ)Overall purpose of the job:To provide SQS with assurance that their Internal Works contractor(s) is delivering works that are compliant with Gas Safety (installation & Use) Regulations 1998, British Standards and client Minimum Standards.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct onsite inspections upstream and downstream of the domestic gas meter installation to ensure quality of work and compliance in line with industry standards.
- Conduct audits of online based documentation and ensure internal works job cards are compliant for submission to the client.
- Conduct audits of MSL service cards at point of meter disconnection and reconnection to ensure compliance.
- Conduct audits of MSL mains testing to ensure compliance.
- Provide accumulated data analytics, detailed compliance trending with a data output platform, and provide knowledge-based guidance on means to improve compliance performance.
- Conduct performance review meetings with internal works contractors and the wider business and produce minutes from such meetings.
- Set and manage performance improvement actions where required, in accordance with operational needs.
- Carry out assurance audits of Internal Works Contractors processes and procedures, competencies, qualifications, online systems, tools, and vehicles and are approved to work on the contract.
- Carry out supply chain audits of contractors working on gas mains replacement works.
- Support SHEQ and Operational Management Team as the technical expert on domestic gas compliance operations.
- Support with inductions of new internal works engineers.
- Produce technical bulletins, within remit, where any new industry standards are implemented to ensure the business is current, or as required by the business.
- Be the named person on behalf of the business when communicating with relevant governing bodies, such as Gas Safe or EUSR.
Experience: Operational experience of Gas installations, a comprehension of quality assurance and an understanding of the principles of continuous improvement.
Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of gas installations and appliances, central heating systems, flues and ventilation, and associated electrical safety installations, supplemented by a thorough understanding of normative documents especially the Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations 1998, British standards, IGEM documents, and non-compliant situations.
Skills and Abilities:A full suite of ACS qualificationsAs a minimum: CCN1, MET1 (Or equivalent)MEB1/PEB1NCO1/2 (Demonstrable understanding/experience of MSL works)Driving Licence
