An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as the MRI Modality Lead in Diagnostic Radiology for UHBW. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Head of Service, MRI leads and wider management team, to oversee the operational efficiency and strategic development of the MRI service, ensuring that the department continues to provide high-quality, patient-focused MRI services. They will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise within the modality providing advice, education and support to staff and other key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job Provide highly visible and accessible professional leadership and demonstrate expert knowledge and standards of clinical practice within specialist field.
Lead a defined imaging service (modality)(MRI) promoting interdisciplinary team and collaborative working practices.
Participate in Directorate management meetings, including service planning, budget
setting and demand & capacity work.
To observe and ensure adherence to all ionising and non-ionising legislation/regulations and guidance documents with Trust Policies and Procedures and Local Rules.
Promote team working; build rapport and collaborative working practices with
multidisciplinary team. Liaise with inter-hospital departments and personnel across
organisational and professional groups. Ensuring effective communication and
interpersonal skills with other disciplines and organisations.
Act as a clinical role model demonstrating high standards of clinical practice and provide
support or advice to other staff when necessary.
Lead and support the development of the role according to changing patient's needs,
service requirements and evidence-based practice.
Lead and actively participate in service / departmental projects, quality initiatives and
statutory accreditation processes. This will include the setting and monitoring of clinical
standards of care.

Person specification Knowledge and Experience
- Significant experience in a Diagnostic Radiographer role (Band 7 or equivalent) - (E)
- Evidence of substantial line management experience and experience of leadership within a service (E)
- Evidence of dissemination of knowledge in wider healthcare organisations (E)
- Understanding of relevant legislation / regulations and guidelines pertaining to ionising and non-ionising radiation (E)
- Awareness and application of Radiographers' Code of Conduct (E)
- Evidence of undertaking and supporting audit and research within modality (MRI) (E)
- Significant practical and theoretical experience in the chosen modality (MRI)(E)
- Sound clinical reasoning and decision making (E)
Skills and abilities
- Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative and prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate
- Personally resilient and able to manage complexity and work in a changing environment
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
