Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees within our UK clients. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of payroll regulations and practices, as well as proficiency in payroll software systems. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with various clients to gather necessary information, resolve discrepancies, and process payroll while adhering to UK specific regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine payroll processing for a variety of client companies.
2. Review calculations to ensure accuracy in pay, variable pay, and UK tax codes.
3. Maintain employee level records to feed accurate payroll calculation.
4. Generate payroll reports.
5. Perform post processing activities.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years prior UK payroll experience.
2. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and tax regulations.
3. Experience with payroll compliance for international companies.
4. Human Resource knowledge and background a HUGE plus, including a general understanding of HR laws and requirements.
5. Escalate payroll related issues, seek advice when faced with complex issues/problems and propose reasonable solutions.
6. Execute payroll transactions into payroll applications ensuring accurate and timely entry.
7. Ability to run standard and create ad hoc reports.
8. Documents payroll processes and procedures. May train other payroll staff. May be back up to those who perform specialized tasks or activities.
9. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources, related experience or payroll certifications.
10. Proficiency with MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
11. Proven experience in payroll processing, with a thorough understanding of payroll best practices and compliance requirements.
12. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
13. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly to employees and clients.
14. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
15. Excellent organizational skills.
16. Willingness and ability to overlap a few hours with the US time zone.
17. Ability to deliver under tight deadlines, resourceful and solution oriented.
