Job Summary
Location: Head Office (Hyde Road, M12 4AH). Flexibility to travel to other depots in Wythenshawe, Tameside, and Sharston.
We are recruiting for a new position of Transport Safety Business Partner to join the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Team. This role reports directly to the Head of SHEQ and collaborates with other SHEQ Business Partners and specialists. The primary focus is to reduce collisions and costs, and to maintain and improve driving standards organization-wide within a results-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on Transport Safety to support compliance and foster a positive safety culture.
- Advise and assist staff, managers, and senior leaders on Transport Safety matters within your competence and experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as TfGM, aiming for effective partnerships.
- Conduct Drugs and Alcohol tests as required, following suspicions of impairment or incidents such as collisions or injuries.
- Accurately record and maintain incident/collision data, displaying information per company standards.
- Retrieve CCTV footage from vehicles involved in incidents to assist emergency services and investigations.
- Report safety performance metrics and improvement plans to senior management regularly.

- Work towards Chartered Membership of IOSH or equivalent; conduct Driving Assessments to BTEC standards; understand relevant health and safety legislation.
- Maintain knowledge of all PCV requirements and legislation, including disability awareness.
- Manage Transport Safety in a complex organization, implementing SHEQ management systems to ensure statutory compliance and risk minimization.
- Analyze safety data and prepare senior reports to evaluate safety performance.
Hours of Work
Full-time, 38 hours per week, permanent contract. Flexibility required for hours/days, including weekends, based on operational needs.
