As a Chemistry ECT, you will:
Deliver exciting and structured Chemistry lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach KS5
Develop student confidence in practical work, investigations, and scientific thinking
Plan lessons that challenge and support a wide range of learners
Participate in Science Week, enrichment clubs, and STEM events
Receive regular, high-quality mentoring from experienced science staff
Engage with CPD sessions tailored to your early career development
Be supported with a structured and proven induction programme
Contribute to a culture of curiosity, respect, and achievement in the Science department
Ideal Chemistry ECT candidates will:
Hold a Chemistry or related degree and be on track to achieve QTS
Be passionate about sharing knowledge and making Chemistry accessible
Be enthusiastic, reflective, and willing to engage in school life
Understand the challenges and joys of teaching Chemistry at secondary level
