You'll work on scaling Monzo in a controlled way, while helping us optimise our financial reporting processes with the help of technology. You'll join the Finance team and report to our Senior Financial Reporting Manager. Overseeing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes. Ensuring compliance with IFRS, FRS 101 and company accounting policies, leading the implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements, including those around ESG reporting. Supporting the production, review and delivery of our annual report, consolidated financial statements and external financial reporting. Working with our external auditors during audits. Maintaining internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), protecting our financial data and our balance sheet substantiation process. Managing and mentoring more junior team members involved in the reporting process. Collaborating with FP&A, tax, treasury, and other cross-functional teams to gather data and align reporting. Working with our engineers and data teams to automate the production elements of this role, allowing you to focus on the parts of the role where your knowledge and skills provide the most value. Supporting tight processes with our finance control team to ensure a swift month-end close process, particularly those around complex areas such as share options, provisions and financial instruments. The Role As the Senior Management Accountant at our Leeds head office, your primary role will be the management and delivery of our financial function and reporting for a key area of the business. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the company is financially robust and compliant with all regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Co-Managing Directors and working in collaboration with our Group Finance Director, your role will involve producing monthly financial reports, overseeing the preparation of accurate monthly and annual financial statements, and providing financial insight and analysis to the senior management team, to support decision-making. You will be required to lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring continuous professional development. You will also be instrumental in identifying opportunities for system improvements and ensuring that all financial activities align with our company standards. This role offers you the opportunity to make a real impact within a dynamic and supportive team, contributing directly to our mission of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions. The Person We are looking for a dynamic and energetic individual who has the motivation to take their career in finance to the next level, whilst supporting our continued growth. You may be working towards your CIMA/ACCA qualification or may already be fully qualified, with extensive knowledge of running a finance function. Whilst previous experience working for a major house builder or service provider may be an advantage, what is important is the willingness and ability to do the right thing. Main Responsibilities: Lead on all aspects of our finance function at our Leeds head office. Completing routine processes such as raising Journals in line with business schedules. Complete the full production of month-end financial reports for the board. Production of KPI s and analysis. Ensuring our customers requirements and expectations are met in a courteous and professional manner. Identifying areas of improvement within current systems. Ensuring company standards and procedures are followed. Achieving quality standards and fully reconciled customer accounts. Key Skills: Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Strong understanding of financial accounting principles. Experience with financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of a Qube Property Management System is advantageous although not essential as full training will be provided. Ability to multitask and work efficiently to agreed deadlines. Highly motivated, reliable, with the commitment to complete activities. Planning and organisation of individual and team workload and work streams to identify priorities. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
