Full-Time English Teacher - Portsmouth, Hampshire

GSL Education are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a respected secondary school in Portsmouth for a full-time English Teacher role starting in September 2025. Offering a competitive annual salary of £30,000 to £50,000 (depending on experience), this is a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned educators and Early Careers Teachers. The school warmly welcomes visits prior to interview, allowing candidates to experience the school's ethos and meet the team. Interviews will be conducted over the coming weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons to secondary school students.
• Plan, prepare, and assess students' work in line with national curriculum expectations.
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Participate in department meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development.
• Uphold the school's values and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Specialism or strong subject knowledge in English Language.
• Previous experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
• Suitable for both newly qualified and experienced teachers.
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisation skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
• Have anupdated CV(covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps).
