As a Caseworker you will: Make calls to offer support to victims of crime, delivering immediate support. Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support, which will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users Work alongside and oversee the casework management of a small number of volunteer supporters Liaise and actively engage with other local providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for victims and survivors Use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes Working as part of a team with staff and the volunteer team to provide a seamless service to clients You will need: Understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their families Effective verbal and written communication skills Experience of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s) Ability to balance competing needs and priorities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders Personal resilience to manage exposure to highly emotional or sensitive demands of the role Ability to manage a caseload including complex case management Ability to use generic IT applications competently. This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. The postholder will drive the integration of trauma-informed practices, contribute to clinical governance, and support outcome monitoring. There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas, each delivering support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Every branch has a team of volunteers who make this possible. The Branch Support Coordinator is a key member of the team, ensuring that beneficiaries access the right support in a timely manner. This role involves liaising with regional and national teams and coordinating casework support provided to beneficiaries by Branch volunteers. What difference will you make? SSAFA has been supporting the Armed Forces community for more than 130 years. Our beneficiaries come from all backgrounds and age groups and the number of people contacting us for help rises each year. In recognition of their service to the Nation we aim to provide financial, practical and emotional support when it's needed most. To do this we need excellent coordination of local services and between our teams. What will you be doing? Every SSAFA Branch has different needs, however, below are the main activities of a Support Coordinator. Coordinating and assigning referrals: Accepting referrals for beneficiary casework support from SSAFA's Regional Office and allocating beneficiaries' cases to branch volunteers Quality assurance: Overseeing SSAFA casework across the branch, ensuring beneficiaries receive support that meets SSAFA's casework standards Using online systems: Using SSAFA's case management system to record, coordinate and track beneficiaries' cases Managing and supporting volunteers: Ensuring volunteer caseworkers have a manageable caseload and that effective support and supervision is in place. Signposting and partnership working: Liaising with the Central Office, Specialist Services teams with regards to beneficiary support with Mentoring, Ghurkha Services and for those in the criminal justice system. Keeping volunteers informed and up to date: Supporting the Branch Training Coordinator and Volunteering Coordinator to ensure volunteer caseworkers are up to date with training and have the information needed to carry out their role. Communicating: Working together with Regional Office employees to ensure an effective flow of information, raising any concerns about service delivery in good time.
