Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Location: Nationwide (UK) Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Commercial Manager Join a Growing Commercial Team in a Dynamic Construction Environment Are you an ambitious Junior Quantity Surveyor or Estimator looking to kickstart or grow your career in the construction industry? We're offering a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team where you ll play a key role in the full commercial lifecycle of projects from estimating and budgeting to procurement and cost management. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and a desire to build a long-term career in a fast-paced and supportive environment. What You ll Be Doing Estimating & Budgeting Support the preparation of accurate cost estimates for tenders and pre-construction stages. Review drawings and scopes to create detailed cost breakdowns. Assist with pricing for both reactive maintenance and larger commercial projects. Contribute to financial forecasting and value engineering efforts. Procurement & Supplier Coordination Source and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Help procure materials and services in line with project schedules. Build and maintain effective relationships to ensure timely communication and delivery. Commercial & Contract Support Assist in preparing tender packs, pricing schedules, and bills of quantities. Support contract administration, including variations, valuations, and final accounts. Maintain organised, up-to-date commercial records. CRM & System Usage Big Change Update commercial and procurement data using Big Change. Track quote statuses and ensure transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Support adoption and effective use of the platform across the team. Project Support & Communication Attend site visits and internal/external meetings as required. Collaborate with Project and Operations Managers to align cost and delivery. Resolve issues quickly through strong communication with all stakeholders. Time Management & Organisation Independently manage your diary and priorities to meet deadlines. Stay calm under pressure in a reactive, fast-paced setting. Take ownership of your responsibilities and escalate risks appropriately. What We re Looking For A genuine interest in developing a career in Quantity Surveying or Estimating. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach. Strong time management and organisational skills. Confidence in communicating with colleagues, clients, and suppliers. Comfortable using digital systems experience with Big Change is a bonus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. A basic understanding of construction drawings and commercial principles.
