Vacancy for LDL Technical Relationship & Project Manager at the British Library 17 October 2021 Locations: Boston Spa or St Pancras Salary: BSP £45,000 and STP £48,750 per annum Fixed Term This exciting role is based at the British Library and will serve all six UK Legal Deposit Libraries: British Library, The National Library of Wales, The National Library of Scotland, Trinity College Dublin, Cambridge University Library, and The Bodleian Libraries. The main purpose of this role is to translate technical requirements, inform technical projects, and build strong, open relationships between the technical departments of each Legal Deposit Library. The Legal Deposit Libraries Technical Relationship and Project Manager will lead or project-manage specific legal deposit initiatives for all six libraries, oversee project budgets and resource allocation, and coordinate research activities related to Legal Deposit. The role also involves providing relationship management and technical communication to government and publisher stakeholders regarding Legal Deposit matters. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an academic or research library as a qualified librarian or in a project management role, with a good understanding of electronic publishing. Qualifications include a degree-level education. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for conveying complex ideas effectively. The role requires excellent planning and coordination skills, familiarity with project structures, and the ability to work in a matrix environment, managing stakeholders with potentially conflicting priorities.
