Job Title: Production Operative Rubber Roll Manufacturer / Shot Blast Operator Location: Batley, WF17 Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Hourly pay negotiable, depending on experience Our client provides specialist expertise and high-quality products for Material Processing, Surface Protection, and Service. The Role Our client is expanding their workshop team and seeking a hands-on, skilled Production Operative to support their rubber roll manufacturing process. This varied role includes shot blasting operations, manual lathe work, and the preparation and application of rubber coverings. You will be part of a team responsible for covering, turning, grinding, and vulcanising rubber rollers, working with a wide range of industrial materials across their two roller covering departments. Full training will be provided for candidates who do not have prior experience in vulcanising rubber products. Key Responsibilities: Operate shot blasting equipment for cleaning and surface preparation of steel and aluminium components. Work with rollers, plates and pads in a production environment. Strip old rubber from various substrates using manual centre lathes. Perform turning and grinding of rubber rollers using lathes and grinders. Prepare surfaces and apply appropriate bonding agents. Cut and prepare rubber according to job specifications. Apply rubber in various formats to different substrates. Participate in both hot and cold vulcanisation processes. Safely use mechanical lifting devices and follow workshop safety procedures. Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience operating manual centre lathes (preferred but training can be provided). Experience in shot blasting (preferred but training can be provided). Forklift/Lifting certification (preferred but not essential). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive, flexible and strong working attitude. Working understands of production efficiencies and processes in a manufacturing environment. Health and Safety aware. CNC Machinist / Lathe Operative Swinton £11 per hour - £14.20 per hour. Monday to Friday Alternating hours. Weel 1; 6am-2pm. Week 2; 2pm-10pm. Main duties: Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function to meet different client specifications. Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines. Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly. Applicants must have previous experience, be numerate, pc literate, able to work within a team environment and to meet production targets.
