Are you a garment designer with a can-do attitude ready for your next challenge? Looking for a role where you can use your CAD and photoshop skills to design technical products for a renowned adventure sportswear brand? Do you have a proven background in sportswear and a strong understanding of performance apparel? If so, we have an opportunity for a Designer to join our team here at Dare2b on a 12 month fixed term contract! The Impact you will have in this role is: Innovative and commercial seasonal ranges, designed and developed with new product areas that support growth and capitalise on opportunities for the business Seasonal trends and styling outlined and presented, with key print and fabric trends and colour direction identified that drives newness and innovation The market and social media continually reviewed and reacted to with emerging product trends identified New seasons line lists understood, satisfying all the markets Dare2b is represented in, with a clear hierarchy within the range and a strong and consistent product direction Price challenges recognised and technical features identified clearly in each slot, in line with the product brief Sales Managers & Key Stakeholders views interpreted, delivering required sales growth through commercial & innovative ranges Confident & enthusiastic presentations at key milestone meetings, with design backed with commercial logic Ranges presented to the Assistant Design Manager & Product team prior to key meetings Design changes actioned and discussed in Sample Review/ Sign Off meetings with a consistent range that is strong for successful sell-in Garment specs created within the in house PLM template with clear and concise technical information illustrated for both the product development team in the UK & Asia Collaborate working with the PD's, with knowledge of technical features, garment fitting and fabric usage developed and detailed specs created before being issued to the product development team Close working with the buying teams and supplier base with knowledge and understanding of factory capability developed, driving new product development An informed product development team, aware of any changes and specifications throughout the season Accurate print & lining artwork created and handed to the buying team according to calendar deadlines Pantone references handed over for lab dipping to Product developers & Buying team in line with the departmental calendar Accurate artworks for new branding and trims created and uploaded to PLM and Boxnet for hand over meetings with Asia office A consistent brand message & relevant use of primary Dare2b logo and sub logos on product Milestone meetings prepared for and ran effectively with all necessary designs, print and colour work Deadlines understood for on schedule delivery of samples for key dates/ meetings throughout the season Design team assisted in the preparation of any overseas trips with all of the specs, fabric information and artworks prepared and ready for the team members who are travelling Ranges ready to present to Design & Product Managers for final design overview prior to key meetings A full job description outlining all deliverables and requirements for the above can be found attached to the advert on our careers page. As our future Designer you will have: A minimum of 2 years experience in garment design Experience with Technical Apparel categories including design and fabrics Experience in garment construction and fit Understanding of sportswear design for a commercial market Print and graphic work experience is beneficial but not essential Design and creative flair - understanding of seasonal trends and ability to translate into commercial ranges in line with Dare2b identity Garment construction and ideally sportswear background and an understanding of performance apparel The ability to work independently and confidently present and execute ranges for our current market A flexible working style with the ability to work in a rapid paced, energised environment The ability to work confidently and independently when required Willingness to undertake trips overseas, when required A Positive, enthusiastic and 'can do' attitude, willing to assist in all aspect of the process Strong team player who is driven to succeed and draws inspiration from working collaboratively with others Understanding of garment construction and the ability to work within commercial constraints Understand the appropriate trims for garments that can be easily accessible in the country the garment is to be manufactured in Understand the brand vision and willingness to work towards objectives and tasks set at ADR meetings High level of accuracy and attention to detail If this sounds like the role for you, please don't hesitate to apply now.
