We are looking for an Economist with previous experience in a similar role working on UK economic evaluations in the oil and gas industry. This is a maternity cover contract role to August 2026. You will be a team player, proactive and self-motivated. Main duties and responsibilities: A key role in delivering best-in-class results by: Providing economic evaluations as needed in support of investment opportunities across the UK with potential to support Africa business. These include exploration, development, Brownfield Projects and other strategic options. Presenting economic analysis to Joint Venture Partners. Participating in project Gate Reviews including the preparation of gate documentation. Providing support for project PAF's, the Strategic Plan, the annual Work Programme & Budget and other key business processes (e.g. impairment and reserves reviews). Participating in Peer Reviews and proactively identifying any issues requiring an Economics Peer Assist. Participating in economic lookbacks on major expenditures to assess value added and capital efficiency. Completing other analyses and ad hoc projects as required. Applicants to this role require: An established Petroleum Economist with specific experience working on UK economic evaluations. Exposure to G&G, Reservoir Engineering, Facilities Engineering and Planning. Expert knowledge of the UK oil and gas fiscal regime. Experience of providing economics evaluations in support of commercial analysis. Strong economic modelling history with ability to review other Economists' work.
