Assistant Attendance Officer

Employment type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Location: South London.

Salary: £23,174 - £26,975 per annum.

Hours: 8h30am - 16h30pm Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and record student attendance and punctuality, ensuring accurate data is maintained.
• Communicate with students, parents, and staff regarding attendance concerns and support strategies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve student attendance and reduce lateness.
• Support the Attendance Officer in identifying and addressing patterns of absenteeism or truancy.
• Prepare and present attendance reports for school leadership, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.

Key Requirements:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate attendance records.
• A clear understanding of the factors affecting student attendance and punctuality, with a proactive approach to addressing them.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
• Experience with administrative tasks, including data entry and the use of attendance management systems (or willingness to learn).
