Location: Coventry

Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-time

Salary: £35-40k per annum

Job Overview:

Claire at Amber Mace is looking for a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of a small, friendly elderly care home based in Coventry. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care are provided to our residents while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.

As the Registered Manager, you will lead a dedicated team, foster a supportive environment for both staff and residents, and drive continuous improvement in care delivery. You must have a strong background in registered management, ideally within an elderly care setting, and hold an NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

    • Provide strong, supportive leadership to the care team, ensuring they are motivated and well-trained.
    • Ensure the care home operates efficiently, with a focus on delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
    • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff to maintain a skilled and compassionate workforce.

Regulatory Compliance:

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards and legislation, ensuring the home meets all regulatory requirements.
    • Complete all necessary paperwork, audits, and reports for regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance is consistently achieved.
    • Lead the preparation for CQC inspections and address any action plans resulting from those inspections.
  • Resident Care:
    • Ensure the individual needs and preferences of residents are met, promoting independence and dignity in all aspects of daily living.
    • Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
    • Develop and implement care plans, regularly reviewing them to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  • Quality Assurance & Improvement:
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance the quality of care and services provided.
    • Actively address any concerns or complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
    • Regularly review and analyze care services to drive performance improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a similar elderly care setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and regulations, with a track record of achieving high inspection ratings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and external agencies.
  • Good financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional care and improving the quality of life for elderly residents.
