About the role:

We are currently looking to hire an experienced paralegal in our London office to work within the global Legal & Compliance team. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with internal business units and external service providers and advisers. This is an exciting role supporting the General Counsel primarily and the wider Legal and Compliance team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting on issues related to fund establishment, structuring, launch, marketing, and distribution of funds.
  2. Dealing with ad hoc queries from the fund boards of directors.
  3. Drafting and negotiating various trading agreements including brokerage, ISDAs, and GMRAs.
  4. Dealing with KYC enquiries from counterparties.
  5. Assisting on negotiation and administration of research and data agreements.
  6. Dealing with enquiries from the investor relations team.
  7. Advising on basic and general commercial contracts and other vendor agreements.
  8. Liaising with external advisers and external counsel as appropriate.
  9. Company secretarial matters and periodic filings.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Good academics from a reputable university/law school.
  2. Ideally 4 years of experience gained within a law firm or financial services firm, ideally working in a busy legal & compliance department.
  3. Experience with trading documentation and possession of a transactional understanding, ideally gained in an established law firm or fund management business.
  4. Familiarity with current European, UK, and US regulatory regimes that drive the provisions of the terms of business including MiFID II, FCA Conduct of Business, and GDPR, and further compliance issues such as EMIR, Short selling, and other US regulatory.
  5. Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment and demonstrating commercial awareness.
  7. Good organisational skills.
  8. A strong self-starter willing to work cohesively in a team-oriented environment and capable of working independently.
  9. Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
