Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Assisting with VAT returns and bookkeeping tasks.
• Managing a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Supporting the preparation of tax computations for clients.
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and resolving queries.
• Assisting senior accountants and managers with ad hoc projects as required.
• Using accountancy software, including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and other cloud-based tools.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
• AAT qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience (study support available for further qualifications).
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
• A proactive and professional approach to client service.
