Insight Investment is looking for a highly technical, multi-disciplined Windows 11 Architect / Engineer for a project to migrate 2000 VDIs from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Working alongside existing members of the project team, the role will be tasked with engineering the Windows 11 VDI build and collaborating with the IT Security Team to ensure the system is secure. The role will also support the migration and work closely with customer-focused support teams to resolve reported issues.
Responsibilities Include:
- Contribute to the Windows 11 build design, ensuring it is suitable for enterprise-wide use, working under the guidance of the project lead to meet all project requirements.
- Create and maintain a close relationship with customer-focused support teams to ensure a positive user experience during the migration.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customer-focused support teams and end-users during migration.
- Contribute to the company knowledgebase system and produce good technical documentation about the Windows 11 system and configuration.
- Work in partnership with the IT Security team to ensure compliance with security standards, identifying potential security risks and contributing to their mitigation.
- Integrate existing technology configurations, such as Ivanti Environment Manager and Microsoft Defender, in the new Windows 11 build.
- Support the build testing and validation phases to ensure that all systems perform optimally.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in Windows 11 migration projects.
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of design, engineering, and build processes.
- Working knowledge of Omnissa Horizon, vSphere, Ivanti Application & Environment Manager, PowerShell, and Ghost Solution Suite.
- Demonstrable experience in supporting and collaborating with customer-focused support teams in a technical environment.
- Sound knowledge of IT Security protocols and strong understanding of IT Security standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
- Varied knowledge of front-end desktop support, back-end infrastructure support, systems management, and project management with a well-rounded appreciation of enterprise systems and architecture.
- In-depth analysis using tools such as SysTrack, ProcMon, Wireshark, and Windows Performance Analyzer.
- Ability to determine a problem's root cause through analysis of data, events, logs, system behavior, and user experiences, and the correlation between these factors.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex hardware and software issues associated with the EUC platform, identifying related problems that may indicate systemic issues.
