As an organisation we recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance. When applying, speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate flexible working, so your work life fits around your home life.
We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the Trust.
We are looking for a Consultant Radiologist to replace a recently retired colleague, with sub-specialist interest in MSK imaging and intervention.
There is an increasing demand for MSK imaging and intervention from primary care services as well as general in-patient and out-patient referrals and we recently merged with Weston Area Health NHS Trust, located 18 miles south of the BRI.
The job is designed to be shared with Weston and although reporting can be done remotely at the BRI, there will be an expected attendance of one day a week to support Weston MSK ultrasound provision and on-site reporting. Two MSK Consultants are already established in this split-time commitment.
We cover a full range of MSK imaging and intervention, with the scope to develop the service even further, in response to modern changes in patient management.
In addition to specialised musculoskeletal imaging, the successful candidate will support general imaging in UHBW as well as acute imaging/on-call.
The successful candidate will be expected to comply with all relevant Trust policies relating to administration of patient care. This includes working to set timescales for the triage of requests, the completion of discharge summaries prior to patients being discharged, following the specified process for the management of patients that do not attend (DNA) their appointment or admission, and the completion of all paperwork deemed necessary to support the management of their patients within agreed timescales. Consultants are also expected to work with service managers and clinical colleagues to manage their caseload in a flexible way, to ensure both clinical, national and local priorities, such as maximum waiting times for referral to treatment, are achieved.
