Job Description

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead, build and grow our existing Transaction Tax (TT) specialism.

A little background, our TT team was established as a standalone specialism in March 2021, having previously sat within the wider business tax advisory team. Transitioning from generalist to specialist; undertaking standalone tax projects.

Working alongside our Deals and Tax teams typical projects will be sell-side transactions advice in the mid to lower mid-market space and due diligence projects including vendor due diligence but there is the potential for buy-side projects. You will

  • Work across all offices, building our proposition internally and externally, working closely with our tax team and Deals team
  • Build relationships with key introducers/PE houses, leading building, and supporting the TT team
  • Deliver projects and insight, driving a commercial return

Over the next 3 years, the team are looking to double revenues to £3m, with the right leader building the team and driving this growth. Our key markets are SME, Mid-Market and PE backed, so you will need to be experienced in these markets and comfortable advising on both corporate and shareholder tax issues.

About you

We aren't just looking for someone who can build great relationships but we need a trust builder, whether that be with your team, peers or clients. You'll be a holistic business thinker "beyond TT", with broad commercial and business acumen.

You will be

  • Resilient, adaptable & comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Brave enough to effectively execute 'difficult' conversations with peers and clients
  • Driven to achieve stretching personal/team financial & KPI growth targets
  • An ambitious Associate Director/Director, we will give you the runway if you have the passion to grow
  • Expertise wise - sell-side transactions, MBO/MBI, IPOs, DD/VDD, pre transaction structuring/tax support, Post transaction integration/group rationalisation projects and shareholder CGT/disclosures

It's important to be humble, keen on self-improvement and ready to listen as well as finding importance in people development and have a succession mindset.

We are recruiting for the position across all our hub offices; Derby, Birmingham, London, Reading and Manchester.
