Main responsibilities

  • Assist in the review and development of operational risk frameworks including policies and procedures
  • Review and analysis of Group wide operational risk information for quarterly reporting to senior management, including provision of commentary
  • Assist in the annual operational risk and control assessment process
  • Assist in the Group's second line monitoring process
  • Assist in the incident management process to ensure consistency of information
  • Involvement in ad hoc initiatives or other Group Risk activities as required
  • Guidance to businesses and functions on queries relating to operational risk
  • Work in partnership with other second line assurance functions across the Rothschild & Co Group

Skills and competencies required

  • Attention to detail and accuracy. Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, showing concern for all aspects of the job and accurately checking processes and tasks
  • Strong organisational skills. In particular the ability and experience to plan and track your own work schedule.
  • Conscientious and ability to progress tasks independently. Being a small team, constant supervision is not feasible, and as a result the role offers the opportunity to deliver tasks with more autonomy
  • A genuine interest in operational risk. The role covers various business units across multiple geographic locations and support will be provided, however you will also be expected to be proactive in your approach to learning and development and to share these learnings with the team.

Knowledge and Qualifications required

  • 3 - 5 years operational risk experience, including risk incident analysis and reporting preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of UK and International regulatory framework for operational risk
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite of software
  • Good report writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to build relationships across the business
  • Operational risk and/or audit background, with exposure to Asset Management, Wealth Management, Investment Banking or other relevant investment or professional experience
  • Proven ability to understand, identify, analyse and communicate operational risks within processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French is desirable but not essential.
