Job Title: Panel Wirer / Electrical Fitter Location: Sunderland Shifts: Monday to Friday - Dayshift Job Purpose: Follow established procedures and guidelines to Manufacture/Assemble Company products in line with customer specification. Responsible for achieving defined tasks of the production processes by following established work standards. Key Accountabilities: Responsible for manufacturing and assembling company products in line with customer specifications. Work alongside and take instruction from Engineers so that all project and Engineered to Order production activities are completed to specification. Accurately read and interpret wiring / schematic diagrams & layout drawings. Point-to-point wiring checks. Identify and solve any problems or anomalies throughout the project assembly and testing phase, following the correct escalation and documentation processes where necessary. Follow work instructions and predefined rules in respect of safety, quality, delivery and costs standards. At all times follows safe systems of working and follows Health and Safety Policy. Adopt a safe behaviors culture. Contribute and implement lean manufacturing processes and continuous improvement activities. Adopt and contribute to 5S practices. Set-up and operate area-specific equipment ( safety check, setting, loading materials into production machines, operating, removing, packing and sorting materials and/or finished products). Proper use and documentation of measurement equipment. Understand and follow work instructions and training materials. Experience & Qualifications: Time Served Electrical Engineering & Electrical Craft Apprenticeship to City & Guilds Level 3. NVQ Level 3 -Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent Electrical/Wiring qualification. 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in production. Control Panel wiring experience. Work experience in a lean manufacturing / production environment. Functional testing of Control Panels experience. Electrical testing & fault finding of Control Panel wiring & installations. NICEIC Inspection & Testing certificate would be advantageous. Project wiring/Plant room installation experience. Lean manufacturing tools & techniques. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be advantageous. Customer focused and able to engage with all stakeholders to ensure target dates and the expected quality standard are achieved. Good planning and organisation skills and is able to work to deadlines. Knowledge of production processes, activities and best practices. Able to demonstrate contribution to problem solving and continuous improvements. A self-motivator is required able to work on their own initiative whilst also being able to work as an effective part of a team. Good inter-personal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience of reading electrical engineering drawings. Ability to operate equipment controlled via computer touch screens, have basic computer skills. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities of the role: Manufacture of control boxes and panels, wire assemblies in accordance with demand levels to suit Production and Spares requirements. Experience in the assembly and correct termination of cable looms and harnesses.
