Job Title: Assessor/Trainer

Sector: Waste Management / Recycling / Sustainability
Location: Cardiff
Salary: 27,000

Job Description:
This role involves planning and supporting learners undertaking QCF assessment and/or training programme within the Waste Management sector, while representing the organisation in a professional manner aligned with its values and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality training and assessment for all learners.
  • Maintain and promote safe working practices, ensuring training materials and environments adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Comply with technical and vocational requirements as outlined by QCF awarding bodies.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of QCF training modules and curricula to meet individual and organisational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide documentation to internal and external quality assurers as required.
  • Support the induction, training, and development of new and existing staff members.
  • Coordinate activities as instructed by managers or sector leads.
  • Stay up to date with framework requirements and proactively engage in continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Undertake additional reasonable tasks as requested.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mandatory registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is required for this role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge: Current occupational knowledge within the Waste Management sector and experience in the principles and practices an Assessor role.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and approachable.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Competent in using IT applications (e.g., Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of practical workplace experience as an Assessor.
  • Experience in planning, monitoring, and maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • A good level of education (minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent).
  • Formal IT qualifications (e.g., ITQ, ECDL).
  • Assessor qualifications such as D32/D33, A1 Award, or TAQA
