Our client is looking for an Experienced CNC Programmer/Setter who has proven experience of milling and turning using Fanuc controls. To programme, set and prove out components requiring manufacture on high/low volume CNC machines ensuring the highest quality standard by following set operating instructions and technical drawings. Key Responsibilities Produce components whether it be a one off to a large batch to a high and precise specification and accuracy; Program and set CNC machinery and order appropriate tooling that may be required to complete scheduled jobs; Tool and fixture making that may be required for any large volume components; General machine maintenance; Perform self-first off and final inspection of yours and other staffs manufactured components; Working on manual machines as and when required and urgency dictates; General cleaning, sorting and tidying of the machine shop; Sort and rack ordered in material into the correct location of the material rack; Create change request forms for any alteration/additions to components being made; Fix/repair any damaged or ill-fitting components from other departments; General bench fitting activities; Cleaning out and stripping down machines after use; Assembly and packing of finished components; Preparation of components for welding, plating or painting; Assisting the stores on delivery of the raw material.; Ad-hoc tasks for line manager as require; Take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and any other persons who may be affected by your acts. The Role As a CNC Setter / Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture components to exact engineering specifications and drawings. You will work with both proven and unproven programs, producing high-quality components while maintaining efficiency, accuracy and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Set and operate CNC milling machines, run proven and unproven CNC programs, adjust tool and work offsets, produce first-off components to drawing specification, read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, inspect components, identify machining issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will have strong experience programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines, with the ability to program both online at the machine and offline using CAD/CAM software. Experience using EDM & spark erosion would be preferred but not essential. The role involves machining precision components to engineering drawings, carrying out in-process inspection using CMM equipment and conventional measuring tools, and adjusting programs where required to ensure parts meet quality expectations and tight tolerances. Candidates should also be capable of completing sub-assemblies and supporting continuous improvement within production. Applicants must have a solid understanding of engineering drawings, inspection techniques, and machining processes, along with a proactive attitude towards problem solving and quality. A strong commitment to health and safety standards is essential. Previous experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment is required. Experience with multi-axis machining and CAD/CAM software would be advantageous. Competitive salary and overtime opportunities available depending on experience.
