Job Title: Maths Lecturer (GCSE & Functional Skills) Location: Birmingham Contract Type: Long-Term Temporary Pay Rate: £25 £30 per hour About the Role: We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Maths Lecturer to join a Further Education (FE) college in Birmingham on a long-term temporary basis . The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching in GCSE Mathematics and Functional Skills Maths , helping learners achieve strong outcomes and build confidence. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills Maths Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback Prepare students for exams and assessments Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality processes Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Essential Requirements: Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics Experience teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths in FE Excellent classroom management and communication skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Desirable: Recent FE teaching experience Experience working with post-16 learners Ability to deliver engaging sessions to mixed-ability groups Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Contact us: (phone number removed) or (url removed) All applicants will be contacted to discuss suitability and then invited to register with TeacherActive.
