Annual Salary is inclusive of 1 sleep-in per week at £40 each Base rate starts at £13.28 per hour (£26,931.84 a year) to £14.02 per hour (£28,431.84 a year). Annual salary is based on an average 39-hour week, and is pro rata for part time. About Smoothstone Care and Education Smoothstone Care and Education provide safe, stimulating care and aspirational educational opportunities to children and young people aged between 11 and 18 with a range of complex speech, language and communication difficulties including autism. The young people may also have additional learning difficulties and display associated challenging behaviours. Being part of the Smoothstone family means working in a 'home from home' environment with fantastic opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities with the young people including theatre and cinema visits, sporting activities, country walks, and days out to amusement parks. We are looking to recruit competent, experienced, and passionate support workers. Candidates will have at least 1 years experience within a similar setting, a working knowledge of autism and will already hold a Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare or equivalent. Holding a valid driving licence is essential. Benefits / Salary Benefits include planned career development, ongoing comprehensive training package, free meals & onsite parking, a 'Thank-you' reward system, offering a range of high-street vouchers, a sleep-in allowance in addition to the annual salary, and a staff wellbeing support programme including an onsite mental health first aider and access to external professional mental health support. Shift Patterns A combination of early shifts, late shifts and full days with occasional sleep-in duties. All positions include working some weekends and bank holidays. Early 07:30-15:00 Late 14:30- 22.00 or sleep Full 07:30- 22:00 or sleep All successful candidates will be expected to display a commitment to promoting the safeguarding and wellbeing of our Young People and to participate in all activities with the young people including in the classroom setting.
