We are currently recruiting a dedicated SEND Teacher to join the team and help shape the future of this school. Title: SEND Teacher Location: Trimdon Hill School, Durham, TS29 6EY Salary: £43,000.00 per annum ( not pro rata ) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday & Wednesday: 8:30am - 5:00pm Tuesday: 8:30am - 4:30pm Thursday & Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm Contract: Permanent Term Time Only Start: February 2026 UK Applicants only. As a SEND Teacher, you'll: Deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet each pupil's unique needs Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom where every child can thrive Develop creative teaching strategies that spark curiosity and boost confidence Work closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team Track progress and champion both academic and personal development Help shape a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel understood and empowered Who We're Looking For We're looking for a qualified, passionate and adaptable teacher who truly believes in the potential of every child. You'll need: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A passion for supporting children with Autism and complex needs Proven ability to create inclusive, exciting learning experiences Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching Please note: This role is not suitable for ECTs/NQTs. About Us Trimdon Hill School, located in Trimdon Grange, County Durham, is a brand-new school that opened in June 2025. The school caters for 40 pupils aged 4 to 11 years with a diagnosis of autism, who may also have a range of complex learning needs, communication challenges, and sensory difficulties. For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided high-quality care and education to pupils, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
