Ideas People Trust We're BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions all organisations need to navigate today's changing world. We work with the companies that are Britain's economic engine - ambitious and entrepreneurially-spirited businesses that fuel the economy - whether privately or publicly owned - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them. We'll broaden your horizons Working, achieving, and thriving together, our Tax team move with every challenge. Friendly, driven and diverse, they service our clients across the country and around the world. By providing expertise in many different specialist areas of tax, they collaborate across BDO to deliver wider business solutions. From meeting clients' evolving business needs to managing changes to legislation, there are always fresh challenges to face in the Tax team. If you're after a career that will keep you on your toes, we'll give you the autonomy to drive your career forward. Our Tax Assurance & Risk Management ('TA&RM') team is a fast-growing collaborative team of around 15 people nationally led by three dedicated tax partners, who together support a wide variety of private, private equity-backed and listed clients across sectors. Our work has helped many clients meet their legislative tax governance compliance obligations (including in relation to the Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offences regimes, the tax strategy publication requirement and HMRC's Business Risk Review process) and strategically improve their tax operations and tax control framework, manage tax risk and provide assurance to tax authorities and business stakeholders. Technology is an important part of helping our clients succeed and we encourage innovation at all levels in our team. We are an award-winning specialist tax team. This is a dynamic client-facing role that requires excellent client relationship, communication and project management skills with the ability to distil tax concepts into easily understood information suitable for a wide array of stakeholders. Most of your work will be client facing, reporting to senior managers, directors and partners, and will require you to actively manage your client portfolio and manage project delivery, coordinating teams to deliver exceptional client service, in addition to supporting business development activities. This role will involve consideration of a range of taxes including corporate, indirect and employment taxes; our work is broader than any one area of tax and we require candidates with good commercial awareness who are eager to learn, adapt and contribute to this area of growth for the business. Importantly, we are looking for natural curiosity about how tax functions and businesses run, from the governance, processes and controls to the people and technology they use and the tax technical issues relevant to them. We'll help you succeed Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships. You'll be both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and partners to help businesses effectively. You'll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with. We are looking for someone: Who can act as a key point of contact within the firm for the client, together with senior members of the team. This will involve responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients. With experience of TA&RM work (including such as tax process, tax strategy, SAO, CCO, tax risk registers etc) - with a keen interest in tax governance and developing tax operations. With broad tax technical experience to be able to talk knowledgeably at a good level about a range of tax issues.
