The successful applicant will spend six months within the Social Sciences Books team , part of the Research Publishing division of Springer Nature. If selected for this internship, you will work closely with a team of acquisitions editors across the Social Sciences (fields including Sociology, Anthropology, Social Policy, Gender Studies, Migration Studies, Childhood and Family Studies, and Language and Linguistics), assisting in the management of our prestigious books programmes. Specific tasks may include assisting in the peer review process for new books, identification of potential authors and publishing opportunities (including use of data-driven tools to identify growth areas where there is a gap in the literature), helping authors prepare manuscripts for production, ensuring information in databases is accurate and up-to-date, writing and editing marketing texts, attending internal and external meetings, and related duties.
