Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of Designers and Technicians Oversee production of drawings from concept and planning through to Building Control and Technical Construction stages Manage team workload to ensure deadlines are achieved without compromising quality Collaborate with Project Managers and engage with clients to develop practical, well-considered designs Coordinate with internal manufacturing and construction departments Review and approve technical drawings for accuracy and regulatory compliance Support and mentor team members to encourage professional development Manage drawing storage, filing, and documentation control processes About You Qualifications & Technical Skills RIBA qualification or equivalent architectural qualification Proficiency in AutoCAD Working knowledge of SketchUp, Enscape and Photoshop Experience Proven experience managing and leading a design team Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical expertise In-depth knowledge of UK planning policy and building regulations Understanding of structural design principles, particularly timber frame construction Knowledge of CDM regulations and associated responsibilities Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Desirable Experience using AI and digital tools within architectural workflows Knowledge of sustainable design and energy-efficient construction practices

This position is offering all of this and more We are recruiting on behalf of a small Architectural studio in Lancashire, near Preston. Easily commutable from all parts of Lancashire and into Greater Manchester. They currently are home to around 7 staff including Architects and experienced Technicians. They work on a really nice mix of project types including Private Residential dwellings (up to £1.5m), larger housing schemes and some commercial developments. They prefer their team to take charge of their own project work, although support is offered where needed by a talented team of senior colleagues. Project work is typically completed using a mixture of AutoCAD, REVIT and Adobe software. Owing to a busy order book for at least the next 18 months, they are looking to appoint a new Project Architect (Could be a qualified Architect with up to 5-years post-qualification experience) to their team. They would prefer to recruit at a more junior level at this point someone that can cope with running smaller projects, and can contribute towards some of the larger-scale project work in the office too.
