Task & accountabilities: Your main tasks and responsibilities will include: - To perform or supervise all mass property analysis based on manufacturing drawings and CAD models of spacecraft, platforms and equipments as necessary to ensure that reports are completed to meet project requirements. - Plan mass property analysis and measurement campaigns for projects at subsystem and system level. - Maintain a mass trend database to support the preparation of mass estimates for bids / concepts / kick-offs and to identify trends for use by design. - To provide a detailed definition of all mass property physical testing required to verify that the mass property reporting requirements are met. - To conduct or monitor these physical measurements / tests and issue reports to compare results with requirements and with pre-test analysis. - Produce regular mass properties status reports. - To prepare and maintain work plans, schedules, work package descriptions and costs. Required skills: To be successful for this role, you need to have the following skills and experience: - HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or similar related discipline. - Appreciation of the relevant design drivers and associated manufacturing issues. - Conversant with and apply, as appropriate, analysis techniques and methods for light weight structure mass property prediction and measurements. These will include computer (MS Excel) modelling. - Use of Catia V6 for mass property analysis of manufacturing drawings. - Able to establish and execute work plan and cost estimate for projects. - Able to train, advise and supervise team members in main activities. - Excellent presentation and communication skills. - Able to work on your own as well as with others. - Eligibility to handle ITAR data and equipment Any experience / understanding of Finite Element (FE) will also be useful but training will be provided if required.
