Estimator - Windows & Doors Job Title: Estimator / Order Processor - Fenestration Job reference Number: -26279 Industry Sector: Estimator, Estimating, Order Processor, Order Processing, Commercial Windows, Fenestration, Windows & Doors, Doors, Architecture, Glass, PVCU, Hardware, Ironmongery, Aluminium, Timber Windows, Aluminium Windows, Glazing, Architectural Ironmongery, Building Products, Sash, Residential, Commercial, Developers, Social Housing, Commercial Works, Refurbishment, New Build, Local Authorities Office based: Kent Remuneration: £40,000 - £50,000 + Discretionary bonus Benefits: Company benefits package The role of the Estimator / Order Processor - Fenestration will involve: Office based Estimator / Order Processor position dealing with a bespoke range of commercial & residential fenestration projects, covering windows, doors, roof lights and glazing systems Liaise with customers, contractors and suppliers, resolving technical queries and confirming pricing, specifications, lead times and manufacturing requirements Review tender enquiries to determine scope of works and project deadlines Working on projects where each product/system is unique and therefore requires a bespoke approach Taking details from drawings to produce BOQs allowing for a timely return of quotations for customer deadlines Keep good documentation of tenders and quotations on internal database Contact customers dealing with queries and providing additional technical information Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and suppliers Managing large projects up-to a value of £600k The ideal applicant will be an Estimator / Order Processor - Fenestration with: Must have experience as an Estimator or Order Processor working within the fenestration sector, open to windows, doors, glass, glazing, roof lights or closely related IT Literate particularly excel Strong technical understanding of drawings and client specifications Ability to interpret project requirements and translate them into accurate cost plans. Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills. Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our clients team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in estimating interior fit-out packages, including joinery, glazed partitions, drylining, and structural glazing. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in our company's ongoing success. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out projects, focusing on joinery, partitions, drylining, and structural glazing. Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documents to identify scope, requirements, and potential cost-saving opportunities. Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors, obtaining competitive quotations. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure all estimates are aligned with project requirements and budgets. Present cost estimates and pricing strategies to senior management, ensuring they reflect the current market conditions and company objectives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and construction methods related to interior fit-out packages. Track project costs, monitor progress against estimates, and prepare reports for management review. Skills & Experience: In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards specific to interior fit-out projects. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar) and strong MS Excel skills. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Relevant qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field (preferred).
