Key Responsibilities: While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to : Providing day-to-day technical support to service engineers, sales teams, operational departments, and customers. Diagnosing and resolving technical faults relating to cooling, refrigeration, HVAC, heating, and temperature control systems. Supporting troubleshooting activities remotely and attending customer sites where required. Interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, specifications, and engineering documentation. Advising on the correct installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of engineering equipment. Supporting the selection and application of equipment to ensure solutions meet customer requirements and operational objectives. Assisting with technical reviews of project specifications, engineered solutions, and customer applications. Providing technical support during equipment commissioning, servicing, start-up, and breakdown investigations. Carrying out root cause analysis on equipment failures and recommending corrective actions to improve reliability and system performance. Preparing technical documentation including service bulletins, troubleshooting guides, engineering reports, and technical procedures. Maintaining accurate records of technical investigations, support activities, and engineering improvements. Working collaboratively with engineering, service, projects, sales, and operations teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions. Supporting the training and development of colleagues by sharing technical knowledge and best practice. Monitoring industry developments, engineering standards, and product improvements to support continuous innovation. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety legislation, engineering standards, and company procedures. What You Will Need to Apply: Strong technical knowledge of cooling, refrigeration, HVAC, heat pump, or temperature control systems. Previous experience providing technical support within an engineering or industrial environment. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues methodically. A sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering documentation, and system schematics. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. A customer-focused approach with excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills. Experience using Microsoft Office and engineering or service management systems. A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of customer service. Previous experience working with industrial cooling equipment, chillers, boilers, air handling units, process cooling systems, or rental temperature control equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.Applicants will ideally hold a Degree, HNC/HND, NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, HVAC, Building Services, or a related engineering discipline. Relevant industry certifications and a full UK driving licence would also be beneficial.
