IT MANAGER I'm working with a global company that specializes in motion control technology. They design and manufacture parts for airplanes, industrial applications, and even Formula 1 cars. They are looking for an IT manager for their Reading facility to cover a range of day-to-day IT Duties. This is a really varied role and will involve a number of little things that can't be easy summed up in a few bullet points, however if you have solid technical skills are organised and have great people skills you'll excel in this role. The key responsibilities are but not limited to. Coordinate installation and maintenance of operational computer/technology across the site Provide critical support for IT assets and infrastructure. Maintain inventory of operational computer/technology in various areas. Develop and maintain lifecycle and business continuity plans for specialized computer/technology. Coordinate network/system upgrades and act as site point of contact/project coordinator. Provide budget input for maintenance/upgrades of specialized computer/technology. Liaise with Corporate IT to resolve technical issues affecting business operations. Collaborate with operational staff to understand IT equipment needs and support upgrades for state-of-the-art equipment. Identify and address areas for improvement within the team and the organization. Key skills for this role; Great personality and ability to work in a collaborative flexible environment Strong SQL Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred Minimum of five years proven experience with Desktop/Hardware Computer Support. Advanced technical knowledge of computer software, operating systems, hardware, networking, and servers Proven technical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Behavioural Competencies: Innovation, adaptability, decision making, communication, customer focus, building strategic working relationships, initiating action, quality orientation, managing work. Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE or comparable experience It would be a huge benefit but not essential if you have familiarity with Tech used in manufacturing, and Engineering Test Systems This is a mainly onsite role in the Reading facility due to the nature of the role however they have flexible working and will happily facilitate ad hoc working from home when needed.
