Create a safe and purposeful learning space, pick suitable resources, and use technology to help students learn independently. Teach students individually and in groups using provided strategies and resources. Watch how students respond to teaching and let teachers know if things aren't going as expected. Help teaching assistants and volunteers, giving them tasks, and sharing good ideas. Encourage teamwork and good behaviour and give feedback on how students are doing. Check how well students are learning and use that to plan future lessons. Talk to parents about how their children are doing and involve them in their learning. Administer tests to figure out what help students might need. Work with other professionals to help students. Help plan activities outside of school that build on what's learned in class. Manage special projects. The HLTA must have/be: Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent is essential. Be passionate about supporting education. Bring energy and enthusiasm to the role. Be flexible and adaptable in a busy educational environment. Have the ability to work well in a team and independently. Have a working knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures. Have the ability to relate to young people. Be able to inspire, influence, challenge and motivate, leading by example.
