The Role As a Software Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Joining our Land CEMA focus area within Babcock Mission Systems to support the delivery of Synthetic Environments into our in-service projects. Day-to-day, you'll be delivering software input regarding synthetic environments into a variety of tendering opportunities, all whilst leading a development team to deliver against the requirements of successfully bid opportunities: Initially building simulation / emulation software and environments working with simple sensor data. As the programme matures, increasing environment complexity, working with multi-discipline teams to create pan Open System Interconnect (OSI) model synthetic environments, capable of testing the system at all layers. Understanding and reporting on software delivery timescales and risk for synthetic environment activities. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Bristol Business Park in Stoke Gifford, on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements. Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Software Engineer Successful delivery of synthetic software environments to model / simulate complex sensor systems. Knowledge / experience of developing / modelling / simulating software in at least one of the following areas: RF telecommunications, waveforms, OSI model, SIGINT, EW. Agile development methodologies. C#, C, C++, Python and Database architecture.
