Liaise with vendors, select and oversee purchase of electrical equipment & components. Assist in preparing project documents including scopes, schedules and reports. Manage conflicting priorities among simultaneous projects. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas, chemicals and/or other high hazard process industries. Appropriate Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer with an appropriate institution. Knowledge of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Ability to allocate work appropriately to design staff and monitor progress to meet project needs. Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments. Overview of Main Responsibilities: - To become authorised to undertake High Voltage (HV) testing (e.g. cable mapping; Vacuum Interrupter testing, transformer testing, rotating plant)- Service work in Asset Diagnostics including condition assessment of substation plant, partial discharge surveys; monitor installations, calibration, data analysis etc. including report writing- Proactively develop our asset condition data analysis techniques- General service support across the team / company- Role will be split between office and regular offsite work- Occasional overseas/offshore working (additional allowances apply) Academic / Knowledge Required: - HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent HND/relevant degree level an advantage- Knowledge of Condition Assessment MV/HV electricity distribution / transmission assets, Partial Discharge would be an advantage Special Aptitudes / Skills: - Electrical background essential e.g. time served Electrician- Strong analytical skills- Attention to detail and Health and Safety- Good communication skills, oral and written- Previous experience of HV testing/diagnostics/maintenance would be an advantage- Willing to occasionally work overseas/offshore (previous experience an advantage)- Inquisitive approach to problem solving
