Geomatics Surveyor Boston, Lincolnshire £38-44,000 + Local Government Pension + 9-Day Fortnight + Car Allowance Not every surveying role involves long hours, motorway miles, tight project deadlines and relentless site pressures; this opportunity offers something different. We're recruiting a Geomatics Surveyor to join a public body responsible for critical infrastructure across Lincolnshire. This is a varied and rewarding role where your work will have a direct impact on local communities, businesses, agriculture and the environment. Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you'll divide your time between site-based surveying and office-based technical work. Approximately 40% of your time will be spent out in the field undertaking surveys using modern Leica GPS and Total Station equipment, alongside traditional surveying tools such as dumpy levels. The remaining 60% will see you analysing survey data, producing CAD drawings that play an important role in operational planning and decision-making. For somebody who enjoys variety, this is the opportunity to combine practical surveying with technical office-based work whilst maintaining an excellent work-life balance. What you'll be doing You'll undertake a wide range of surveying activities across Lincolnshire, including topographical surveys, asset condition surveys and setting out works. You'll collect, manage and interpret survey data before producing accurate drawings and plans using CAD software. The role will also provide the opportunity to work with GIS systems, drone survey technology and a range of digital tools that support operational activities. Whether you're already experienced in these areas or looking to develop your skills further, training and professional development will be supported. You'll work closely with operational teams, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with consideration for environmental and biodiversity objectives. What we're looking for This role could suit a number of different backgrounds. You may be an experienced Geomatics Surveyor, Engineering Surveyor, Site Engineer or Land Surveyor looking for a better work-life balance and greater long-term stability. Equally, you may be an emerging surveying professional or recent graduate with experience using surveying equipment and CAD software who is looking for a role where you can continue to develop your technical skills whilst gaining exposure to GIS and drone surveying technologies. We're interested in speaking with people who have experience using GPS equipment, Total Stations and surveying equipment, along with a good understanding of CAD software. A full driving licence is essential. Why apply?
