Solar Electrician Job Overview We are working with a leading domestic and commercial renewable energy company, who are currently looking to expand their team and take on another experienced Solar Electrician to join the team covering the Hertfordshire area working on Solar PV Installations. Within the role you will be responsible for the installation of Solar PV and battery storage systems on domestic, commercial & industrial properties. The majority of the work to begin with is domestic installations on a mixture of new build, retrofit and housing association properties and is all local. There will be some larger domestic / commercial projects that will require work nationwide. The company will cover all overnight stays. You will need to be fully qualified with your 18th Edition, City & Guilds Level 3, and 2391 Test & Inspection. You will be responsible for the timely and efficient installation of solar systems onto the roof and making off connections up to and including the inverter and battery (DC Cabling), as well as installation of solar and battery systems. The company also value work/life balance. You will be expected to complete circa 1-2 jobs per day, meaning once you finish your jobs, you can head home. If you work efficiently and finish earlier, the earlier you can leave. The company have been established for over 20 years and have completed over 50,000 Solar PV Installs on Domestic Properties. As such their scheduling and organisation is second to none. Within the role, you will work in a two man team alongside a Roofer/Panel Installer, installing Solar PV systems on private domestic properties within the local area. You will work as a team to complete installations, with the roofer installing and fixing the panels and running the cables through, which the electrician will then wire up and commission the system. Most systems range between 6-20 panels and some jobs will have a battery storage system in addition. The company have been installing PV systems for over 15 years and have 50+ crews working nationwide. They aim to make each install as simple as possible for their Engineers. All sites are technically surveyed prior to the installation starting, all scaffolding and required infrastructure will be set up prior to the teams arrival, and all materials are delivered to site. You will only ever have one install per day, once the install is complete, your day is finished. This means if you have a smaller system and complete it by 2pm, you can go home but will still be paid for a full day.
