Common People Films is a London based production company which reps Directors, Photographers and now also Ai artists. We are a small but dynamic team and are looking for a Head of New Business to join our family. The ideal candidate needs to demonstrate their understanding of the production / creative industry and will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, both agency and DTC (Direct to Client) building and maintaining client relationships, and achieving sales targets to drive company growth and revenue. The role: We are looking to fill the role of a Head of New Business. The role will report into the Founders. The main function is to look for content production opportunities to work directly with brands in the UK and Internationally as well as leaning into long standing agency relationships. You will be working closely with the two founders and our Head of Talent but will have to be independent and hungry. We are a very flexible but very driven company. Responsibilities: Identify and develop new business opportunities with UK brands to promote our production services. Drive sales within both independent and agency networks. Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets. Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients. Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market developments to identify new opportunities. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and generate leads. Provide regular sales reports and updates to management. Strong understanding of the UK agency market and experience working with UK brands. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and success. Knowledge of production processes and industry trends is a plus. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Office & Facility Management Oversee the daily operations of the Eleanor London office, ensuring it is a polished, organized, and welcoming space. Manage reception duties: Answer calls, handle inquiries, and greet guests professionally. Coordinate daily mail pickup, couriers, and deliveries to ensure smooth logistics. Manage meeting room bookings and ensure spaces are set up for in-person and virtual meetings. Maintain office supplies and restock essentials (e.g., kitchen, stationery). Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and building management to handle maintenance, office updates, and operational needs. Director, Client & Team Support Meet and host directors, clients, and agency partners when they visit the office. Ensure directors working from the space have everything they need for meetings, prep, or post-production. Support the production team with light coordination, including: Booking travel and preparing itineraries for directors, producers, and crew. Assisting with research or slide presentations for pitches. Coordinating weekly production call content and maintaining internal alignment. Manage petty cash float, expense tracking, and invoices in coordination with accounting. Assist with onboarding new team members, freelancers, and directors. Maintain office records and general admin duties to keep things running smoothly. Awards & Industry Presence Support the team in organizing and submitting entries for major industry awards (Cannes Lions, D&AD, LIA, UKMVAs, etc.). Position Overview: We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who has a deep understanding of the filmmaking process, with a strong network within the advertising industry. You'll be responsible for managing relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and playing a key role in FORM's growth under the management of Jonathan & Dave (Managing Partners). The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for creative talent, a great understanding of industry trends, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, from directors to agency decision-makers. Key Responsibilities: Learn the ins and outs of each director's portfolio to ensure that you can expertly match their work to the right projects. Develop a deep understanding of their unique strengths, style, and capabilities, becoming a trusted resource for clients. Talent Scouting: Working with Managing Partner Dave, you will keep an active eye for new and emerging directors who could complement our talent offering. Monitor industry trends and adjust your approach accordingly. Create bespoke reels that showcase our directors' talents in alignment with specific client needs and sales opportunities. Tailor reels and other materials for pitch meetings, client responses, and brief submissions. Relationship Building: Working with Managing Partner Jonathan, establish and maintain strong relationships with advertising agencies, brands, and other key stakeholders. Network actively to expand your industry contacts and stay connected with existing relationships. Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective sales strategies that help FORM expand its reach and client base. Engage with clients to understand their needs and position FORM's directors and work as the solution. Client Engagement: Organize and host screenings, presentations, and other client-facing events to showcase directors' work. Attend meetings and presentations, sometimes at short notice, to engage with potential clients or directors. Social Media, PR & Marketing Support: Collaborate with the team to help with social media strategy and execution. Provide support for PR efforts, helping to build FORM's brand presence across industry channels. Must Have Qualifications: Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the film/advertising industry, ideally with a strong network of contacts within advertising agencies, brands, and production companies. Proven track record in sales, business development, or talent management within a similar setting. Passion for Filmmaking: A genuine passion for filmmaking within the advertising space and an understanding of the creative process from both the client and director's perspective. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be a natural networker who thrives in social settings. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to pitch effectively to clients. Keynote Skills: Strong proficiency in Keynote to create engaging presentations and compelling pitch decks. Location: Though this is a fully remote role, you must be based in the wider London area to facilitate in-person meetings, lunches, and events with clients or directors at short notice. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
