Reporting to the Finance Manager, this Management Accountant role is key in ensuring the delivery of the monthly accounts and finance reporting as well as supporting the other departments across the business with key financial information. Acting as the number 2 for the finance department, duties include: Producing timely and accurate management accounts Balance sheet reconciliations Month end reporting Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure Budgeting and forecasting Supervising the delivery of accounts payable/receivable Assisting with audit process Preparation of monthly payroll - 100 employees approx. Providing financial information to non-financial managers Help identify areas of continuous improvement This Management Accountant role is ideal for an experienced person who is used to producing monthly management accounts packs and helping to support more junior team. We are pleased to be working with an excellent, growing company who are looking to recruit a Qualified Management Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) to join the finance team in Wakefield. This is more than a transactional role - it's a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting and working closely with the Financial Controller and play a key role in shaping the financial strategy of a successful and growing logistics business. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality management accounts, owning the balance sheet, and providing proactive support to operational managers. Key Responsibilities: Take full ownership of the month-end management accounts process Lead balance sheet management and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data. Provide clear financial analysis to explain performance variances and support strategic decisions. Develop financial reports for use by both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Partner with operational teams to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across key cost centres and revenue streams. Lead annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes, working collaboratively with department heads. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and reporting standards. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including systems upgrades and reporting enhancements. What We're Looking For: Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) - is desirable Strong technical understanding of balance sheet management and financial controls. Excellent Excel skills and accountancy software knowledge is essential Proactive, commercially aware, and eager to make a difference in a fast-paced business environment. RG consultancy are working with an engineering company who are looking for a strong finance analyst to join their growing finance team. The primary focus of the role is to provide management with meaningful, accurate and timely decisions within the business. You will work closely with the financial controller and operations teams.
