About the Role Job Title: Debt & Welfare Benefit Adviser Salary: £30,000 per annum Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible - occasional evenings/weekends) Location: Birmingham Settlement - Money Advice Centre, Alma House, Newtown Shopping Centre, B19 2AB (with some outreach work in other areas) Contract: Permanent In this varied role you will: Deliver high-quality, specialist debt and welfare benefit advice to a wide range of clients. Manage your own caseload, including financial assessments, negotiating with creditors and maximising client income. Work as part of a long-established, professional team to provide a holistic service that promotes financial inclusion and builds money management skills. Support the development of services by identifying emerging needs and contributing to best practice. As an experienced Debt & Welfare Benefits Adviser you will already have a background in providing effective, high-quality debt and welfare benefits advice to a wide range of clients in differing circumstance. As a Trainee you will have a basic knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting people experiencing debt and benefit problems along with some experience in an advice service or customer facing setting along with the ability and willingness to undertake training and development . Based at our Newtown office with outreach work in other areas of the city, you will be adaptable with excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage your own workload. You will be joining a long established and professional Money Advice Team providing specialist advice with a holistic approach that covers all areas of debt and welfare benefit along with training to build and continually improve money management and financial capability.
