About the Role: You will be accountable for the processing area of the operation, leading and managing a team of operatives. You will manage, develop, train and lead your team to make sure all daily KPI's are achieved, as well as being highly focused on safety, quality, productivity and efficiency of the department. The successful candidate will require a flexible approach to their working hours in order to oversee and lead a department working between 5am till midnight on a rotating shift pattern. The overall focus of the role will be to ensure the smooth running of the processing area of the operation ensuring that production schedules are achieved to fulfil customer orders on time and to the correct specification. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the technical team to ensure all quality standards are maintained and also the engineering team to address matters which have the potential to impact productivity. Excellent communication skills and team work are a must for this role as well as a flexible and proactive approach to ensure the needs of the business are met. Key Responsibilities: Manage Shift Production Operations: Oversee the production line activities to ensure efficient and effective operations, achieving daily production schedules. Coordinate with other shift supervisors / managers to maintain seamless production flow across shifts. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate production staff, providing guidance and support. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback. Manage shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels. Quality Control: Working with the Quality team to implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain high product standards. Working with the hygiene team to implement control measures and to ensure hygiene standards are maintained. Address and resolve any production issues or discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety within the production team. Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions. Monitor production metrics and report on performance. Support the introduction of new products and changing specifications into the business in line with the customer requirements. Liaise and work with the engineering team to ensure routine maintenance is carried out and machinery is looked after to prevent downtime. About you: Essential Requirements: Proven track record in the poultry/meat processing industry Proven track record in operational management and leadership Knowledge and/or experience of Food Safety Legislation and requirements Excellent communication skills, written and verbally Analytical, numerically astute, with strong problem-solving abilities IT literacy is a must - experience in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential Familiar working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment is essential.
