We are Fund Manager for UK Aid Direct and UK Aid Match - The Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) central funding mechanisms for awarding grants to small and medium sized UK and international civil society organisations working to reduce poverty overseas and achieve the Global Development Goals. We also manage the AmplifyChange fund; a multi-donor fund supporting advocacy in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across Africa and South Asia. Job context We are seeking to appoint an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to cover a period of maternity leave on a full time basis on a 12 month fixed term contract. The position is key to assistance and where applicable direct undertaking and production of management accounting tasks and providing financial management reports both at Group, Corporate and Contracts / Projects Levels. You will be capable of supervising a small team of finance officers to ensure financial processing is completed to a timely manner and to a high standard. As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership and direct management of specific finance functions with accuracy and minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to; Prepare and provide assistance with management and financial accounting tasks which include: Provide preparation of revenue bills and work in progress Complete preparation and mangement of Grant funds claims billing and claims process Have solid understanding of cost recognition to include apportionment of staff labour costs, apportionment of direct and indirect costs Complete accruals and prepayments Review of nominal ledger postings for errors Process reconciliation of balance sheet, subsidiary intercompany accounts and reconciliation of project ledger activity to nominal ledger direct costs Complete the calculation of inter-company interest Posting of all journals relative to the above Responding to queries from Finance Officers and stakeholders in relation to transactional postings Other duties & responsibilities include: Provide assistance in the development of budget development and preparation Prepare and provide assistance with management accounting reporting Reporting and organisation This is a UK based position reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and is based in Bath. It is a permanent, full time role. Occasional international travel may be required. This is a fantastic opportunity for either a Part Qualified Accountant (or QBE) from a professional services or consultancy background who is looking to enhance their experience in a specialist finance team. A minimum of 5 years experience is required, as is strong working knowledge of MS Office, MS Projects and Sage Accounting. A rare opportunity has arisen at MannionDaniels and we are seeking an enthusiatic and passionate Fiduciary Risk Manager to work with our unique organisation. Our fiduciary risk team seeks to ensure that the international aid funds that we manage are used for the intended purposes, achieve value for money and are properly accounted for. To achieve this, the team completes due diligence on prospective grantees, analyses the financial reporting and forecasts of grant holders, and works to prevent and investigate fraud across the portfolio. This Fiduciary Risk Manager (FRM) role provides leadership and oversight across the UK Aid grant portfolio to implement the fiduciary risk management strategy through effective line management of a team of officers. The role manages fiduciary risk and due diligence work streams and ensures that the financial management of grants is in keeping with acceptable standards. Future opportunities to bid to manage other funds and to partake in in consultancy projects will require a core team of PFM and fiduciary risk management specialists and the FRM will perform an important role in managing this expertise alongside other key staff. To this end the FRM will have the opportunity to undertake some business development work and international consultancy. International travel is expected in this post.
