Your new role Ready to kickstart your driving career?Join us as a Trainee Driver at The Sofa Delivery Company, where you'll embark on our in-house Driving School programme! During your first 12 weeks, youll drive a 3.5-ton van as we prepare you to upgrade to your 7.5-ton driving licence. Dont worry if youre new to driving a 7.5-ton vehicle - well guide you through the entire process.From covering the costs of your training and medical assessments to offering time off for your Theory & Hazard tests and Driver Training, weve got you covered. Once youve completed your training and passed the necessary tests, you'll be promoted to a 7.5T Driver role, with a pay increase to match! Its a win-win, and well have you delivering with confidence in no time! With our 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, 7am - 7pm, youll have plenty of time to relax, recharge, and enjoy life outside of work. What you'll be doing Delivering furniture safely and professionally to customers homes. Keeping customers in the loop with pre-delivery communication, so they know exactly when to expect you. Ensuring that furniture is delivered to the room of choice and leaving no rubbish behind. Working alongside your team and senior managers to provide feedback and improve service standards. Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do. Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures. The role is for you if Youve got great communication and time management skills. You enjoy engaging with customers and helping meet their needs. Youre comfortable delivering and installing furniture - wherever that may be. You take pride in your work and focus on safety - both for yourself and others. You thrive in a role with plenty of variety and occasional challenges. Youre dedicated, with a strong work ethic and a desire to be recognised. You enjoy being part of a fun, welcoming team. Youre happy to lift heavy furniture when needed. Requirements: A valid UK driving licence with 6 points or fewer. At least 2 years of driving experience, with no drink/drug driving convictions. A positive attitude and willingness to learn! Youll work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 1015 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers homes.This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, youll thrive here. What you'll be doing Complete all deliveries into customers homes in a safe and professional manner. Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know youre on your way to their address. Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of. Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do. Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer. Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately. Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures. The role is for you if Youre ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team. Youve held a valid drivers licence for 12 months with less than 6 points Youre great with people and enjoy helping customers. Youre comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings. You take pride in your work and value safety of yourself and those around you.
