Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Billingham £85-£95 per day. Start date: January 2026. The Role and School We have several vacancies for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in and around Billingham. The overarching purpose of the role is to work with pupils who have learning difficulties and usually with a statement of Special Educational Needs. The ideal Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) will be prepared to go the extra mile to support very special young people. Requirements The requirements for the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position are: Be able to motivate and support pupil(s) to remain on task and complete work in a focused way. Meet the holistic needs of the pupils of the children under the direction of the class teacher and senior staff. Have an enthusiasm for supporting pupils with special educational needs Be committed to personal learning and development Drive or be willing to use public transport. Job Title: School Receptionist/Admin Assistant Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Billingham. £13.68 ph Start: January 2026. We are seeking a reliable and organised Admin Assistant to join our busy secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) school. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will work closely alongside one other Admin Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of the school office in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Key Responsibilities: General administrative duties to support the school office Answering telephone calls and responding to emails Managing attendance records and pupil data Filing, photocopying, scanning and data entry Supporting staff, pupils and visitors to the school Assisting with diary management and school communications Using and maintaining school systems accurately Adhering to school policies, including safeguarding and confidentiality The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous administrative experience (school-based experience desirable) Strong working knowledge of school systems (e.g. SIMS or similar) Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office Excellent organisational and time-management skills Strong communication skills Ability to work well as part of a team and independently A calm, professional approach in a busy environment What we offer As part of our team, you benefit from: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
