We have a core business based on being innovative in photopolymers, for which we received the Queen's Award for Innovation. We have applied our innovations to craft and office stamps, flexographic printing, and 3D printing. We commercialized the first 3D printer based on an LCD screen and manufacture the Liquid Crystal range of 3D printers. We have invented the concept of custom mass manufacturing using 3d printing. We want to transform the way batteries are manufactured, improving their performance and reducing size, weight and cost. We are looking for a Principle Battery Scientist , to help us with this challenge by leading our 3d printed battery activities. The project focuses on the design and manufacture of 3-dimensional battery cells with an optimised performance for a variety of applications, as well as the development of suitable 3d printing materials for this application and the validation of the 3d printed battery cells in a real application. Key responsibilities for our Principle Battery Scientist : - Lead Photocentric Research in batteries, driving a multi-disciplinary project team working on materials, processes and hardware (3D printers) to ensure these are strategically aligned with the business objectives. - Develop novel battery materials from concept to commercialisation. - Work with the engineering team, providing input and setting specifications for the next generation of 3D printers. - Deliver Photocentric's commitment to public funded projects and grants. - Partner with sales, marketing and product management, to ensure customer feedback and market trends are incorporated in the strategic direction.
